1. Blocking -- try to block opponent's line early in the game (move 20-30 low probability, 30-40 permanent block).

2. Loop surfing -- try to maintain big loop threat as long as you can, riding on it like a surfer on a wave. The opponent will have to extend your line wasting his moves and tiles.

3. Divide and conquer -- early in the game develop a secondary line of opponent's colour far enough from his main line. Wastes lots of tiles of opponent's colour if you can make sure that the two lines will not meet.

4. Short cycling -- constantly try to loop opponent's tiles into very short cycles (less than 9 tiles). Nice way to waste his colour and to separate opponent's lines.

5. Bringing to bay -- if you want your line to be curved to the right (for ex.) to form a loop, but you are blocked, construct a long line of your colour to the left. If the opponent will have to fill the forced spaces he will have a dilemma between closing your loop and connecting two long pieces of your line. A usefull support for "loop surfing", strategy which results in very short lines if the cycle is blocked.

6. Luck-driving (cascade of choice) -- in a heavily blocked tantrix, try to make several moves in a row to cause forced space explosion. Then use the choice in your favour.
